Bladder cancer (BC) is a major global health challenge, with high recurrence rates, limited treatment options, and significant genetic and molecular heterogeneity. Moreover, at the metastatic stage, patient survival is dismissal, being incurable and with very few therapeutic options. Nonetheless, our current knowledge of the metastatic dissemination remains poorly studied in this type of tumors. In order to improve our knowledge on this topic, we are currently analyzing different clinical samples and we have developed new genetically engineered mouse models that recapitulate human disease. With these tools, we can propose new mechanistic insights into the process, and we can develop new management options that can be tested in preclinical or clinical studies.
